Baahubali Lovers It’s Not Over Yet, Netflix Has Series Coming

Director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali – The Beginning released in 2015 and Baahubali – The Conclusion in 2017, starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah and a stellar supporting cast, garnered huge admiration and box office collections from the masses. Now, online streaming platform Netflix has teamed up with Arka Media works for a prequel.

It will be an adaptation of “The Rise of Sivagami”, a prequel novel to Baahubali – The Beginning written by Anand Neelakantan.

“This (prequel) series captures Queen Sivagami’s journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unequalled queen. Power, politics and intrigue find themselves juxtaposed against the rise of Mahishmati – from being a city-state to an empire. This is the rich backdrop and drama where the Baahubali franchise is set. The series promises to build on the incredible narrative style of the franchise – including its high production values, spectacular visuals and connective-epic story-telling.” said Netflix

Deva Katta and Praveen Sataru will co-direct the series.

Netflix has just released it’s first Indian original – Sacred Games which was became quite a sensation. It has also announced ‘The Bard of Blood’ starring Emran Hashmi, produced together with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chilles Entertainment.
