Paltan Trailer : “A Martyr Dies Not When He Is Shot, But When He Is Forgotten”

JP Dutta who is famous for the war dramas – Border and LOC Kargil has come out with another film titled ‘Paltan’. The film is set on the events that occurred after the 1962 Indo-China war. The film is set in 1967 when Indian soldiers had to protect Nathula Pass in Sikkim from China. The film is said to be based on true events.

The film stars an ensemble cast including Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary, Harshvardhan Rane, Siddhant Kapoor, Luv Sinha, Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Deepika Kakar and Monica Gill.

Plot:

The trailer starts when India lost the 1962 war with China and soon after it shifts its focus to the 1967 war when the Indian soldiers won over the Nathula Pass in Sikkhim. In a scene, a Chinese officer speaks in Mandarin while in a later scene an officer speaks fluent Hindi, which seems odd. The film has similar tropes of any war film. Families of soldiers, their wives and old wine in new bottle.

The trailer ends with a powerful line “A martyr dies not when he is shot, but when he is forgotten” and it sums up the lives of the soldiers completely.

The music is given by Anu Malik. The expectations are high from Malik as his Sandese Aate Hai  is still among the popular one. The movie is produced by Zee Studios and JP Films.

The film is set to release on 7 September.
