Short Story of the Shepherd Boy and the Wolf

The moral of the story of Shepherd Boy and the Wolf is, “Nobody beleives a liar”.

Once a shepherd boy used to tend sheep on a hill. Some men also used to work in a field nearby.

One day the shepherd boy thought of fun. He cried out, ‘Wolf! Wolf!’

The men thought that a wolf was killing the sheep. So they ran to help the boy. But they found no wolf. The boy laughed at them.

A few days passed. The boy again thought of fun. He cried, ‘Wolf! Wolf!’

The men again ran to help the boy. But they found no wolf. The boy laughed at them.

Next day a wolf fell upon the sheep!’

The boy was in great fear. He cried, ‘Wolf! Wolf! Help! Help! The wolf is among my sheep!’

The men said to one another, ‘The boy is only making fun. We need not go.’

So no one went to help the boy. The wolf killed many sheep. Then it went away.

Moral: Nobody believes a liar.
