Imtiaz Ali known for his beautiful romances – Jab We Met, Rockstar and Tamasha has penned down another timeless and tragic love story titled ‘Laila Majnu’. Ekta Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali are presenting the film while Sajid Ali is directing the film. The film stars – Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri.
Plot :
Laila (Tripti Dimri) is a young, flirty woman and Kias (Avinash Tiwary) is a young brat who wants to woo her. As most love stories go, the duo fall in love, sing and dance with around rivers, trees and hilltops with the beauty of Kashmir in the backdrop. However, trouble isn’t too far for the lovers.
Kashmir, a heaven on earth turns to land of great political unrest (in real) and the couple has to part ways The rest of the trailer shows the deep sorrow that both Laila and Kias go through. Kias eventually turns mad for his lady love and if you know the original you know it will end or may be there would be an Imtiaz Ali touch to it.
Its to be seen how Imtiaz Ali retells this timeless, tragic and mad love story.
The film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures along with Pi Films and is all set to release on 7 September.
