Trent Bridge, Nottingham :
England are on a roll having won both the test matches at Nottingham and Lord’s. They would look to replicate their heroics for the third time at Trent Bridge to finally clinch the series. On the contrary, India are in a desperate need for a win to remain alive in this five match series.
England have announced their playing XI. They have made one major change, dropping the inform all rounder Sam Curran. Ben Stokes who wasn’t in the Lord’s test due to his court hearing have made a comeback in the team.
Leaving out the 20 year old Curran who was the Man of the Match at Nottingham was a difficult decision said Captain Joe Root.
Root said, “It was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make as captain. It’s about us as a squad delivering over five games and on this occasion Sam is unfortunate to miss out.”
About Stokes, he said,”Ben is desperate to get back playing cricket. He’s desperate to get out there, put in performances and concentrate on his cricket now. He feels ready to play.”
On the other hand, Indian Captain Virat Kohli in a press conference gave a good news for the Indian fans. He said that Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler in all formats, is fit and ready to play the third test.
“Very excited with Jasprit getting fit again. He is an attacking bowler. He bowls good lines and lengths. He is very consistent in hitting the lengths that are required at the Test level. He has shown that in South Africa already. He is one guy who is very aggressive in his mind and wants to take the situation and make the batsmen uncomfortable in the middle. He relishes the challenge whenever given an opportunity. So we are very excited that he is coming back. He is a quality bowler and it’s great to have him on the park,” Kohli said.
