Indian Captain Virat Kohli smashed his third straight century in three matches against the WestIndies and 4 straight centuries in India, equaling AB de Villiers ‘s record. Despite his valiant effort India weren’t able to chase down the target of 284 against the Windies in the 3rd ODI in Pune, loosing by a margin of 43 runs.
Chasing a target of 284, India lost Rohit Sharma (8) early. Dhawan made 35 (45). Captain Kohli came to India’s rescue once again, scoring 107 (119) including 10 4s and a six.

Middle order worries continued for India as Rayadu (22), Pant (24), Dhoni (7) couldn’t hang around with Kohli and the lower order contributions were too little to take note.
Part timer Marlon Samuels turned the tide around picking up Kohli and 2 more wickets. Holder, McCoy, Nurse picked up 2 wickets each.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. The WestIndies had a shaky start. Powell (21) and Hemraj (15) couldn’t score much, then it was all upto the last match hero – Shai Hope. He scored a 113 ball 95 including 6 4s and 3 6s. The attacking Hetmyer scored a 21 ball 37 with 3 long sixes. Captain Jason Holder made 32 of 39 balls. Ashley Nurse gave impetus to the Windies total scoring 40 (22) in the death overs.
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were roped into the squad in place of Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav. Bumrah made merry, picking up 4 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets. Chahal, Kumar and Ahmed picked 1 wicket each.
