Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Sharif have been arrested within minutes of landing at Lahore from Abu Dhabi by the Etihad Airways flight EY243. They have been found guilty in the Avenfield Corruption Case.

Nawaz Sharif is to face a jail term of ten years and his daughter Maryam will face eight years of the term. They are being airlifted in two helicopters from Lahore to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
10,000 police men are posted to keep a check against any trouble caused by the supporters of the three time Prime Minister. Mobile services are also to be shut down in the city from 3pm to 12 am.
