Asian Games: Saurabh Chaudhary clinches gold in 10 meter Air Pistol event

Three days Three golds and many more medals. First 3 days of the Asian Games in Jakarta have been quite gratifying for India. Young champions from India are shining in Jakarta from 16 year old shooter Saurabh Chaudhary to 23 year old wrestler Vinesh Phogat to 24 year old wrestler Bajrang Punia among other Indian players doing India proud.

Indian shooters continued to shine at the Asian Games. Saurabh Chaudhary produced an Asian Games record score of 240.7 to clinch the gold medal in Men’s 10m Air Pistol final at the Asian Games 2018 on Tuesday. Abhishek Verma won the bronze with a score of 219.3 in the same event.

Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore was happy with the good showing by the Indian contingent at the 18th Asian games. He felt that the consistent good showing is a result of the talent spotted and funded under Khelo India.
Day 3 at the Asian Games

Divya Kakran becomes the third Indian wrestler to win a medal at the 2018 Asian Games. She beat Taiwan’s Wenling Chen 10-0 in her bronze medal bout to win the medal by technical superiority.

India’s Men’s Team Regu settle for a bronze in the Men’s Team Regu Semifinals against Thailand. This is India’s maiden Sepak Takraw bronze. India lost the semi-finals against Thailand 0-2.

Indian women’s hockey team pulverised Kazakistan 21-0 in the Pool B  group Match. As many as 9 players found the back of the net in the big win. Indian women’s hockey team had earlier thrashed Indonesia 8-0 in the Asian games hockey opener.

Meanwhile, Heartbreak for India in swimming. Virdhawal Khade missed Men’s 50m freestyle bronze by 0.1 sec. He  finished 4th with a timing of 22.47 seconds.

Indian shooters pair Shreyasi Singh and Lakshay get eliminated in the Trap Mixed Team Finals. Shreyasi had a bad outing to be the first pair to get eliminated in the finals.

Indian mens kabaddi team has bounced back in style in the asian Games in Jakarta. The team overcame the early upset at the hands of South Korea to get back to winning ways on day 2. India put their best foot forward to defeated Thailand 49-30 in a one sided contest. The eves have topped the group with 4 wins in 4 matches.
The eves knocked down Indonesia and Sri Lanka today.

India’s Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan trounce Kadchapanan N and Trongcharoenchaik of Thailand 6-3, 6-1 to enter the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles event.

India’s Sumit Nagal and Ramkumar Ramanathan battled past Chinese Taipei duo Chen T and Peng H 7-6(5), 7-6(2) to enter the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles event.

Rohan bopanna then partnered Ankita Raina to reach the pre quarter finals in mixed doubles. They win 6-3, 2-6, 11-9

Earlier in the day, India’s Ankita Raina eased past Japan’s Hozumi Eri 6-1, 6-2 to enter the quarter-finals of the women’s singles event.
