New Delhi:
The Supreme Court has declared that the Lieutenant Governer of Delhi cannot interfere with the policy decisions taken by the AAP government.
In response to the suprene court judgement Kejriwal said that the decision is a big victory for democracy and has restored faith in judiciary.

A five judge bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra stated that Delhi could be granted “full statehood”, the bench ruled that the elected government could make rules on all subjects barring law, police and public order.
The CJI also added that the L-G should work harmoniously with the council of ministers and must take their aid and advise.
Delhi CM in his tweet, criticized the Modi government for limiting the powers of the elected government through illegal order via L-G Anil Baijal.
If Modi govt had not withdrawn the powers of elected govt thro illegal orders, precious three years wud have been saved. People of Delhi are grateful to judiciary. Today’s order reinforces people’s faith in judiciary

In a statement released by Kejriwal, he says that the present judgement underlines three important virtues of constitutional governance- Public trust, Constitutional morality and secularism.
