The much anticipated trailer of Dhadak which stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar has finally dropped. ‘Dhadak’ is an official remake of the biggest blockbuster in Marathi cinema, ‘Sairat’.
Sairat which released in 2016 was not just a film, it was phenomenon. The Nagraj Manjule directed rustic tale of love, swept the state of Maharashtra and earned 110 crores at the box office. The audiences related to roles of Archi and Parsha, their rural dialect and nuances. The music by Ajay Atul was simply mesmerizing. ‘Zingaat’ is even today played at party’s and functions.

Ishaan Khattar plays the role of Madhukar (Parsha) and Janhvi essays the role of Parthavi (Archi) in Dhadak. The movie is set in Rajasthan. The Ajay-Atul hit ‘zingaat’ is recreated. The movie is set on an elaborate scale but fail to capture the essence of the original.
This will be Janhvi’s debut film while it will be a second outing for Ishaan. Ishaan stared in Majid Majidi directed ‘Beyond the Clouds’ which released in March this year.
The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan who previously helmed ‘Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania’ and ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania’. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Zee Studios have collaborated for this project.
The film is set to release on 20 July.
