Pakistan’s Fakar Zaman smashed a record 210 in the previous match against Zimbabwe becoming the first Pakistan player to score a double century. He along with Imam-Ul-Haq stitched a world record opening partnership of 304.
Today, he has broken another record leaving many cricket greats behind. Zaman has now become the fastest to reach 1000 runs in one day international cricket. He has scored these runs in only 18 innings which includes 1 double century and 3 centuries.
Earlier, the record was jointly held by Sir Vivian Richards (WI), Kevin Pietersen(Eng), Jonathan Trott(Eng), Quinton de Kock(SA) and Babar Azam(Pak) with 21 innings each. Indian Captain Virat Kohli took 24 innings to reach 1000 ODI runs.
