‘Sanju’ beats ‘this’ Rajkumar Hirani film under 7 days

Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic – ‘Sanju’ opened to mixed reactions from the audiences and critics. All hailed Ranbir Kapoor for his brilliant impersonation of Dutt but a few criticised the movie for “hiding the truth” and “choosing Dutt’s version of the story” to wash him off from his crimes.

‘Sanju’ opened to outstanding numbers at the Box-Office collecting Rs 34.75 Cr on it’s opening day. The movie also smashed the record for the highest collection on a single day for a Hindi film earlier held by Baahubali 2. Baahubali 2 (Hindi) had collected Rs 46.50 Cr on it’s 3rd day (Sunday) whereas Sanju collected Rs 46.71 Cr.

Sanju’s Box- Office collections are as follows: 

Friday – Rs 34.75 Cr

Saturday – Rs 38.60 Cr

Sunday – Rs 46.71 Cr

Monday – Rs 25.35 Cr

Tuesday – Rs 22.10 Cr

Wednesday – Rs 18.90 Cr

Thursday – Rs 16.10 Cr

Total – Rs 202.51 Cr 

The Rajkumar Hirani directed film has collected Rs 202.51 Cr in just 7 days and have beaten the life time collection of another Hirani film, 3 Idiots, released in 2009. 3 Idiots starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor had collected Rs 202.50 Cr.

‘Sanju’ is also Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest grosser surpassing Ayan Mukherjee directed ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ which collected 188.57 Cr. This is Ranbir’s fourth film to cross 100 Crores and first in the 200 Cr club. Earlier, Barfi collected 112.15 Cr and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil earned 112.48 Cr at the Box-Office.
