Reexamination for high school students

“The students of class VIII cannot read or write the lessons of class V as there is no examination for the classes V to VIII, currently. The parents are also not worried as their ward is going to get promoted in the upper standard in any case. The rule that no student should be retained in lower class till class VIII, the quality of their education has considerably down; hence it is amended,” said Union Human Resources Minister Prakash Jawdekar here. To overcome this problem, the States have been given rights to conduct the reexamination of the students in classes VI to VIII who couldn’t clear the regular school examinations, he added.

The reexamination will be conducted in May. If the student fails in that examination also then he will be retained in the same standard. The right to take the decision has been given to the respective states.
