Poor posture & health problems: Causes and Precautions

Doing desk jobs and long periods of sitting day-in and day-out can impact your health and cause many problems.

Prolonged sittings and wrong posture may lead to many health problems, like neck pain or backache. Doctors suggest that one should avoid sitting in one posture for a longer duration and keep the back straight while sitting. PROBLEMS OF PROLONGED SITTING:-

– Stiffness in Joints

– More wear and tear in joints

– Muscle stiffness

– Affect on soft tissues

– Weight gain and obesity

PRECAUTIONS:-

– Do not sit in one posture for long duration

– Keep your back straight while sitting

– Avoid prolonged sitting

– Take a break after every 45 minutes of  sitting

– Walk, stretch and exercise

WRONG SITTING POSTURE MAY CAUSE:-

– Backache

– Neck pain

– Joint pain

– Increased Risk of degenerative conditions

– Pain in upper back or shoulders

– Numbness in fingers

– Pain in wrist and arms

While sitting for long duration don’t forget to take short breaks in between to move and be cautious about the proper posture.
