Netflix’s Sacred Games Cleared For Season 2 After Independent Investigation

Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games was under fire after allegations of sexual harassment on writer Varun Grover. Also, the directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane’s Phantom Films partner Vikas Bahl is accused of the same.

The streaming giant – Netflix conducted independent investigation and have decided to continue working with the directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane and writer Varun Grover for the second season of Sacred Games.

“After an independent investigation, the results helped inform Netflix’s decision to continue with Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap on season 2 of Sacred Games,” Netflix said.

“Netflix will continue to work with Varun Grover on season 2 of Sacred Games,” it further said.

Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual harassment in the wake of the #MeToo movement by a former Phantom films employee. Partners Kashyap and Motwane knew abiut the incident which took place in Goa in 2015 but took no action. As a result, Phantom films was dissolved last month.

Varun Grover was anonymously accused of sexual harassment by a co-student while he was in college. However, he has denied all the allegations.

Sacred Games returning for Season 2 with the same writer and directors is going to a treat for the fans as it is one of the most loved shows recently. It has scored 9 on IMDb and 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. The POST gave it 4 hearts.
