The fact that in the progressed state like Maharashtra, we still have incidents on Female Infanticide is very disturbing. Additionally, there have been cases of naming a girl child as “Nakushi” (Unwanted) clearly indicates where we stand in our gender equality. Star Pravah aims to showcase a story of such girl in rural Maharashtra.
The upcoming serial Nakushi is based on a young girl who has been named as Nakushi. The show will start from 10 October every Monday to Friday at 7 pm on Star Pravah. The teaser of this serial shows the protagonist telling about her journey.
Marathi serials have seldom shown the village life as a part of their story. After Zee Marathi’s Ratrees Khel Chale, this will be another serial based entirely in a village. The subject of this serial is very sensitive and will be able to create some awareness in the society.
