Kerala Floods : Here Is How You Could Help

God’s own country – Kerala is facing disastrous floods that have claimed 324 lives in the last nine days. More than 2 lakh people have lost their shelters. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi have announced Rs 500 Crore as relief to the state’s demand of Rs 2000 Crore.

The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the state has suffered a loss of Rs 19,512 Cr. The people are in dire need to supplies, medicines, the hospitals are facing oxygen shortage. The Defence Ministry has provided 1300 life jackets, 512 lifebuoys, 1000 raincoats, 300 gumboots, 1200 ready to eat meals, 1500 food packets and 104 motor boats for rescue and relief operations, which isn’t going to be sufficient.

Amazon is partnering with its implementation partners and state and national disaster coordination committees to provide immediate relief to the victims. The online giant has partnered with three NGOs: Habitat for Humanity India, World Vision India, Goonj.

The Hindu Relief Fund : 

Contributions may be made in rupees by crossed cheque or demand draft (payable in Chennai) drawn in favour of ‘The Hindu Relief Fund’. A covering letter should mention the name and postal address of the donor, with PAN (if available). A receipt will be issued.
