India register its biggest T20I victory, win the series 2-0

India have outclassed Ireland today at Dublin and registered it’s biggest T20I victory by a gigantic margin of 143 runs. Chasing a daunting target of 214, the hosts were bundled out for 70 under 13 overs.

Earlier, Indian skipper Virat Kohli made several changes in the playing XI. KL Rahul was given an opportunity in place of Shikhar Dhawan and he didn’t disappoint. Rahul continued his sublime IPL form and scored 70 of just 36 balls including 6 sixes. Kohli opened the innings with Rahul but departed early. Suresh Raina came one down and stitched a partnership of 102 with Raina scoring 69 of 45 balls. Hardik Pandya stole the show with his hitting at the end. He clobbered Kevin O’Brien for 4 gigantic sixes in his 9 ball 32 blitzkrieg.

Kevin O’Brien was the most successful bowler for Ireland picking up 3 crucial Indian wickets. Peter Chase picked up 1 wicket.

Ireland never seemed to be in the chase. Umesh Yadav, in his T20I comeback game, picked up Paul Stirling and William Porterfield in successive overs. Debutant Siddarth Kaul too picked up his first international wicket in form of James Shannon. Irish middle order tumbled like a pack of cards as most batsmen could not even muster double digits scores. The spin wizards Kuldeep and Chahal took 3 wickets each, giving away 16 and 21 runs respectively. Skipper Garry Wilson’s 15 off 18 balls was the highest score for the Irish team.

KL Rahul was awarded the Man of the Match and Yuzvendra Chahal received the Man of the Series.

This is India’s biggest T20I victory and also the lowest score of any opposition against India.
