Fanney Khan Trailer : A father chasing his daughter’s dreams with a social message

Fanney Khan’s trailer has just dropped and looks really interesting. The movie starts big names including Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao and Divya Dutta in lead roles. The film is an official remake of a Belgian film ‘Everybody’s famous’.

Plot :

Anil Kapoor plays a middle-aged father living in the chawls of Mumbai. He was a singer in his haydays for ‘ Jhankar Orchestra’ and was renowned as ‘Fanney Khan’ but lack of opportunities didn’t propel his career.

Now his only dream is to see his “over-weight” daughter, Lata, become a sucessful singer unlike him. She participates in many reality shows but fails to make any mark.

Aishwarya Rai plays Baby Singh, India’s biggest popstar. She is kidnapped by Adhir (Rajkummar Rao) and Kapoor and the film takes a hilarious turn.

Will Fanney Khan’s dreams be accomplished? Will his daughter become the next Lata Mangeshkar? Will Baby Singh fall for Adhir? are some of the questions to be answered on 3 August when the film hits the screen.

Along with an effective soundtrack by Amit Trivedi, the film also lends a social message on “Body Shaming”.

The film is directed by Atul Manjrekar and produced by Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra Pictures and Anil Kapoor Film and Communication Network.

It seems Fanney Khan will face a severe competition at the Box Office with Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar and Dulquer Salman starrer ‘Kaarwan’ and Tapsee Pannu and Rishi Kapoor starrer ‘Mulk’ also scheduled to release on the same day.
