5 June is celebrated as the ‘World Environment day. This year the theme is ‘Beat the Plastic’ and India is hosting the event. Tons of non bio degradable waste is generated and the environment has to suffer due to it.
Celebrities around the world have pledged to stop using plastic and the Indian celebrities are not far behind.
Alia Bhatt tweeted a photo of switching over to metal bottle from plastic one. She said,” Beat the plastic by switching to steel or glass bottles today! Plastic bottles take 450 years or more to decompose, harming us and our environment. I’m now one step closer towards purging plastic from my life. Hope you guys will make the switch too!”
