Ambati Rayadu Is The Best Option At No. 4 : Virat Kohli

The Indian batting lineup is no less a star studded affair. The top order is cemented with Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Kedar Jadhav form the bottom crux of the batting order.

One spot i.e, No. 4 has always been a conundrum for the team management and the captain alike. The team has tried every option they could. Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyyer and many more. Now, the team looks to have finally settled on one player looking at the World Cup to be held in England next year in mind and its none other than an experienced workhorse – Ambati Rayadu.

In a press conference, Captain Kohli said,” Having seen him in the Asia Cup, we feel Rayudu is the right man for the job. So our team is almost sorted.”

He added, “We wanted Rayudu to play at No. 4 in England as well but there were some technical issues that stopped it from happening.” Rayadu had failed the yo-yo test which made him ineligible to play in England.

Kohli added that they will be playing 18 ODIs before the World Cup and they will give Rayadu those matches to be comfortable in his position.

Kohli also made it clear that the matches leading to the World Cup will be about trying different combinations. Barring injuries, there will not be too many changes.
